Walking
Many other tours will have a three to ten mile walking portion of their tours per day. We prefer to schedule our tours in manner that allows us to put you right where you need to be for each attraction and sight we visit without having to be on your feet for eight hours a day. That is because we hire private coaches that pick us up in front of our hotels and drop us off right where we are going for all our excursions and sightseeing. Ask your travel agent to explain what combination of public transportation you will be using and how much effort they will expect from you to get put forth to get to and from the subways etc on our competitors Tours. All tours obviously require some walking and we do have guided walking tours through all destinations we travel to but we do limit our tours to a very reasonable amount of “on your feet time”. We are the only Tour Operator we know of that specializes in what we have coined as “senior friendly tours”. Most tour companies leave too many gaps in service, convenience, comfort and safety to even come close to a Leisure Tours Tour.
Safety
Your safety starts with the protection of your funds that you paid for the tour. We are a California Corporation and as such are subject to the strictest rules and laws to protect the traveler in the U.S. We have the highest level of financial guarantees protecting your money available in the industry the T.C.R.F. (California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund, see terms and conditions, California residents only) which is a fund set up in California to reimburse travelers in the event of tour operator bankruptcy, insolvency or cessation of business.
California based Tour operators are also are required by the California Department of Justice to deposit 100% of all travel funds into an trust account for the protection of monies on behalf of all travelers. All funds are only disbursed by third party escrow agents to approved venders of travel services to protect your money from being co-mingling with tour provider operating expense accounts. This provides you with the highest level of protection available to a traveler period.
The second level of safety and more important that the first is your personal safety. Remember we are with you every step of the way. That means we are touring partners at all times except when you are in your room. By that we mean protecting your safety is protecting our own safety and we cant think of anybody that has a more vested interest in your enjoyment and safety than a tour operator that chaperones and guides you from the time we make everybody hold up their passports (because I promise you its no fun checking in at the airport and realizing you only have 2 hours to make it home and back in a Taxi to retrieve your passport) before we board the initial pickup bus to the final hug and handshake at the end of the tour.
One of the other safety issues that comes to mind is we have not seen any other Tour operator
address is that Medicare will NOT cover you while outside the U.S. They offer the standard “lost luggage and trip cancellation” insurance. But what happens if you get hurt or sick while in Europe....you are on your own. We all know how fast even the most minor health condition can run up a bill into the tens of thousands of dollars.
