A senior friendly tour is a door to door, unhurried tour tailored specifically for our senior guests (now you don’t have to be a senior to travel with us, just someone who wants a more thought out and comfortable tour) Door to door is a worry free way of touring starting from picking you up to being your travel companion and guide each and every step of the tour. We pick you up at our scheduled pickup point ( generally Laguna Hills and / or Palm Springs, CA) and are with you during check-in, the flight, stay in the same hotels, guide and manage the entire trip for you. Its like having your own personal escort, valet and chauffeur.
Our philosophy is to get you out and involved in every sight and attraction we visit. We know you didn’t fly all the way to Europe to be locked up on a bus all day for 11 days like many other tour companies will have you do. Other tour providers rush you in and out of each sight to get you back on the bus. We knew you would rather take your time enjoying the sights and not be hurried. That’s why we take our time and don’t run you all over the countryside just so you can say you got a quick peek this or that.

Airlines
We have all seen the recent travel nightmares on the evening news relating to domestic air travel. When a two to three hour layover becomes a 12 hour fiasco either sitting at the airport waiting for your connecting flight or sitting in a plane that was unable to depart or disembark due to whatever issues were the story of the day. To insure your comfort and convenience we have decided to take one giant leap over all those concerns. We avoid the standard domestic carriers and their layovers in their US hubs and only use non-stop flights to Europe. To London we fly non-stop directly to London. To Italy we have to make a connection in Europe as there are no direct flights from Los Angeles to Italy. The cost is slightly higher for non stop and connections in Europe versus the US carriers and their hub layovers but we have found it is worth every penny.
Accommodations
All hotels are of First Class and Superior First Class, three to five star ratings, with the highest possible standards of service. We have read Tour brochures from one of the top tour companies that state there is a small chance you will staying at a Hotel that has a shared bathroom down the hall and your hotel possibly may not have an elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up as many as 10 flights of stairs....Ouch! To us that sounds like a modified version of boot camp not a comfortable European vacation. Please rest assured we only pick the finest possible accommodations available.
Every morning we provide a full European style buffet breakfast. Lunch and Dinner time is yours: you may wish to try a light local snack or alternately splurge for a gourmet meal in an elegant restaurant. We avoid sticking our guests with the overpriced standard “set menu” meals with only two or three meal options as they are generally neither sufficient in choice or value for our guests. As always your tour director and local guide are available to offer you recommendations for an inside taste of Europe.
Motorcoaches
For your comfort, safety and security we only hire the newest state of the art deluxe non-smoking coaches with reclining seats and lavatories in both the US and Europe. We limit our maximum guest size per trip to about 30 travelers so there is always room to stretch out.
We are not big fans of the type of tour that schedules four to six hours per day in the motorcoach. We know you didn’t come to Europe to be locked in a coach all day trekking across country. We prefer to sightsee, wander and take in Europe up close and personal and not from a window on the Motorcoach. Our itineraries are scheduled to make sure you don’t spend any more time on the Motorcoaches than an hour or two maximum.
On the longer legs of the Tours we choose to schedule Commercial Aircraft and High Speed Bullet Trains (we only book First Class seating on trains) vs all day or overnight train rides that most every other tour provider puts you on. We prefer a good nights sleep and comfy beds every night instead the options on the overnight trains. |
